XBOX™ was essentially a ground-floor startup two years before its launch – Microsoft was entering into the gaming space where they were not cool enough to belong. Setting an early strategy to collaborate with hardcore early adopters, third-party developers, and the retail establishment, a “FOR GAMERS BY GAMERS" mantra was developed for all brand messaging to be executed worldwide. The record-breaking launch sold over 1.5 million units overnight as Microsoft™ arose as a major player in the gaming space, with a much cooler brand awareness.
